Question

Can you run a socketed ECU from Hondata w/out having the Hondata unit itself hooked up???

I think your refering to the Hondata S100, which does not come with the blue box. You can but down the road when you want Datalogging and all the other features you will have to switch to a S200.
Jim should have received my S200 from Hondata by now and all I need is injectors and the jumper harness then Jim and I are off to the dyno. I heard that you were going to get one preatty soon, hope you get it soon enough so you can go to the dyno with us. I would really like to see that beast put down the #'s when it's tuned.

Hope I answered your question.

I'm getting the S200 system soon. So can you get the ECU socketed for the Hondata unit and run it as if it were a normal ECU w/out having the Hondata unit itself installed???

The reason I'm asking is IF I can run the socketed P28 w/out having the Hondata unit installed I can go ahead and send my P28 ECU off and drive the H/B around for a couple of days until the ECU gets back to me, drop it back in the coupe and drive that around while I'm tearing the H/B apart for the swap. Once I finish the swap I can install the Hondata unit and be on my way.

I guess that makes sense

What type of price would I be looking at if I wanted the S200? I haven't really ever looked into Hondata, but it might be a good option.

Someone want to give me a total as far as Hondata unit, injectors, OBD-1 ECU and harness, etc.. will cost me?

thanks

$580-590 from Jim, he will tune it for you and all you have to do is pay for the dyno time. I'd buy it from Jim because it seems when I went down to see him, he had them all stacked up for the customers to come and get them. Then he broke out the lap top and showed me A LOT of maps that he had already tuned for differant cars.

Tim: I don't think you can get it socketed and run it without the box on it.I'm not 100% sure though, you might want to contact Jim and ask him.

No, you cannot run a socketed ECU without the Hondata "blue box" connected.
